Elizabeth “Bette” R. McNaughton, 94, of DuBois died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born June 8, 1920 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Byron C. and Mary I. (Scholl) London.
She was a 1939 graduate of the DuBois Area High School, where she was a member of the Dol’s. She was also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a degree in journalism. She also held a cosmetology license in Ohio.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during World War II. She worked at K-Mart in Dalton, Ill., for many years.
In April of 1950, she married Orrin “Roy” McNaughton. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2004.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary McNaughton and her husband, Rob Nerius of Orland Park, Ill., Debbie McNaughton of Concord, Calif., and Ellen McNaughton of Sacramento, Calif., and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Byron London.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date from the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Kresinski officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
