Traczyk L. ‘Sarge’ Williams Sr., 74, of Wallaceton died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1941 in Clearfield, a son of the late David and Cathryn (Hitchings) Williams.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. After his service, he was employed on the railroad until his retirement in 1995.
He was a member of Summit Hill United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the DuBois VFW.
He is survived by three children, Traczyk L. Williams Jr. and his wife, Laura of Wallaceton, Tammy Lee Butlin of DuBois and Melissa Rowles and her husband, Michael of West Decatur.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer and Micalah Butlin; Jessica Hensal and her husband, Jacob; Michael, Isaac, Sara and Matthew Rowles; Ean, Rene, Jesse, Brittne and Liam Williams; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Kaiden Hensal; a sister, Irene Knepp of Pennsylvania; and a sister-in-law, Dottie Williams of Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarajane ‘Jane’ (Emigh) Williams on Dec. 5, 2012 and whom he wed Dec. 8, 1967 in Summit Hill.
He was also preceded in death by four grandchildren; three sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Summit Hill Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois VFW Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Summit Hill United Methodist Church, 821 Summit Hill Rd., Morrisdale.
