Estelle “Stella” Kopec, 99, of Clearfield and formerly of Curwensville died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 22, 1915 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of John Peter and Aniela (Pajura) Kopec.
She was the retired co-owner of the former Ondish’s Bar and Grill in Curwensville. She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville.
Surviving are a niece, Kathleen Kovaleski and her husband, Chester of Westwood, NJ; two-great nephews, Chester Kovaleski Jr. and Steve Gorski; a great-niece, Cheryl Bach; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Matthew Kupka; two brothers, John C. Kopec and Karl A. Kopec; three sisters, Anna E. Ondish, Helen Nypower and Dr. Pauline Coulter; and three step-brothers, Matthew, Thomas and John Kupka.
Family and friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville. A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
The family suggests contributions be made to either St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833 of the charity of the donor’s choice.
