Frank W. Hubler, 90, of Clearfield died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born Aug. 2, 1924, a son of the late Jesse and Emma (Shaffer) Hubler.
Mr. Hubler retired from the former Clearfield Clay Products after 40 years of employment. In his free time, he was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed attending Clearfield wrestling meets.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Old Town Sportsmen’s Club for many years, as well as the Clearfield American Legion and various camping clubs.
He was affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, Clearfield. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Lindsay) Hubler to whom he was wed Nov. 26, 1948. He is survived by two children, Susan Collins and her husband, Robert and Frank T. Hubler, both of Clearfield.
He is also survived by a granddaughter, Bobby Sue Brooks and her husband, Mark of Clearfield; two great-grandchildren who both serve with the U.S. Air Force, Dylan and Kayla Brooks; and a sister, Sarah Read of New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, William, Pete, Bob and John Hubler and six sisters, Doris Hubler, Jean Davis, Gladys Horum, Annie Morris, Helen Hubler and Bertha Hubler.
Services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Old Town Sportsmen’s Club, P.O. Box 804, Clearfield, or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield.
