Raymond G. Sacolic, 92, of Clearfield died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Sacolic was born Nov. 15, 1922 in Beulah, the son of Andrew and Mary (Manjack) Sacolick.

He was a graduate of the Bigler Township High School, Madera. He was also a graduate of the Clarion State Teachers College in the class of 1952.

Mr. Sacolic retired after 35 years of teaching. He taught at Clarion-Limestone, Cornwath and Girard-Goshen Elementary Schools.

He was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield and St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey.

Mr. Sacolic was a member of the Clearfield Lions Club, where he received the Merle Jones Award. He also belonged to the Retired Teachers Association, Civilian Conservation Corp., Watershed Group, Master Gardener, RSVP, Democrat Club and Clarion University Alumni Association. He also volunteered at the Clearfield Historical Society.

He is survived by five children, Karen Siegel and her husband, Dennis of Mount Joy; Tim McIlvaine and his wife, Maria of Canyon Country, Calif.; and Frank McIlvaine and his wife, Trudy, Nancy Graham and her husband, Darrin and Cathy Sacolic, all of Clearfield.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Nicholas, Chelsea, Brittany, Lukas and Shannon McIlvaine, Derrick, Shane and Spencer Graham, Kate Hough and Andy, Ben and Daniel Siegel; four great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved cats, Woody and Buzz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie P. (Mariani) McIlvaine Sacolic; and two brothers, Andrew Sacolic and Walter Sacolic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Father John Miller III as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 92, Clearfield, PA 16830.
