Blair Leroy Murray, 83, of Kylertown went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. Born Sept. 16, 1932, he was the son of Frank and Lucinda (Snyder) Murray.
He was a 1951 graduate of the Cooper High School. Mr. Murray then served in the U.S. Army in Berlin, Germany from 1953-55.
He married Ruth Naomi Slother of Philipsburg on June 14, 1956.
Mr. Murray obtained an accounting degree from Bob Jones University in 1959. He worked for Ray Walker Coal Co. and then as a maintenance supervisor at Penelec in Clearfield and Shawville.
He retired after 29 years in 1991, at which time he reconnected with flying, a love he was passionate about sharing with others.
Mr. Murray was an active member of the Lanse Evangelical Free Church. He ministered at other churches and to others on a daily basis. Mr. Murray was well-known for his love of music and endless humor.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Kylertown and five children, Terri Vonada (Doug) of Howard, Steve (Cheryl) of Huntingdon, Jane Weaver (John) of Boalsburg, Sharon Tarman (Bill) of Orrstown and Dan (Karen) of Morrisdale.
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Monday at the Lanse Evangelical Free Church. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow.
Military honors will be accorded at the church by the Moshannon Valley Honor Guard.
