Michael J. “Mike” Reed, 63, of Clearfield, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at Ridgeview Elder Care.
He was born July 18, 1952, the son of the late John and Mary (Richards) Reed. On Oct. 24, 1970, he married Susan (Guelich) Reed, who survives.
He retired from Clearfield Borough. He was a member of West Side United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir and the former chairmen of trustees. He was active with the Kitchen of Care Ministry.
He enjoyed weightlifting, riding motorcycles and target shooting with his son and grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Reed of Clearfield; his son, Travis J. Reed and his wife, Denise of Wilmington, Del.; and three grandchildren, Jamie (Denny) Coyle, Katie Guth and Shane Reed and a great-granddaughter, Henley Coyle, all of Wilmington, Del.
Mr. Reed is also survived by six siblings, Darleen Gruber, Marleen Stucke, Mark (Robin) Stucke, Frank (Maria) Stucke, Carrie (Tim) Sullivan and Bob (Cher) Stucke, all of the Buffalo area; a sister-in-law, Sherry (Boyd) Vokes of Curwensville; numerous nieces and nephews; and his bulldog, Maggie Mae.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Side United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Joleen A. Willis officiating.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday, at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc.
Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
