Charles J. “Joe” Scholl, 77, DuBois died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence. Born July 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Nora C. (Johnston) Scholl.
After graduation from the DuBois Area High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic during the Korean War.
He retired from U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills after many years of service. After retirement, he worked at Pathmark Groceries for 10 years.
Mr. Scholl was Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his sister with whom he made his home with for the past 12 years, Grace Stankavich of DuBois and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Keister and two brothers, Merle and James Scholl.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
