John Edward Pritchard Jr., 49, of Grampian was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving wife, devoted children and close members of his family.

Born Sept. 6, 1967 in Clearfield, he was the son of John E. Sr. and Bonnie Pritchard of Lumber City.

He was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer March 25, and he fought as hard as he could for seven long months.

Mr. Pritchard earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 17.  He was a 1985 graduate of Curwensville Area High School.

He was a member of the Bells Landing Baptist Church, as well as the Laborers Union Local 910 for 31 years.

He had worked for Palo for the last 21 years.  He loved to watch NASCAR and was an active hunter, instilling the love of the woods in his son and youngest daughter.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Tricia (Barrett) Pritchard, to whom he was wed Sept. 9, 1989.

He is survived by his daughter, Linsey (Pritchard) Wertner and her husband, Tim of Chambersburg; his son, John E. Pritchard III and his wife, Ashley of Grampian; and his daughters, Heather Pritchard and Debbie Pritchard, both of Stronach.

He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Wall and her husband, Karl of Curwensville; his brother, Jason Pritchard of Clearfield; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Pritchard of Clearfield; his maternal grandfather, William E. Clark of Olanta; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Leah Jane Clark; his paternal grandfather, John W. ‘Skin’ Pritchard; his father-in-law, Cloyde W. Barrett; and niece, Laura Amanda Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with the Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating. Burial will follow in the Friends Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. -7 p.m. Sunday and again from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
