Lois Marie Sayers, 75, of Philipsburg died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 at her residence. She was born May 13, 1938 to the late Willard R. and Elanor Josephson Olson.
Mrs. Sayers was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of the Cooper Township High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1956.
She graduated from the Philipsburg School of Nursing in 1959 as a registered nurse. She obtained her Master’s degree in nursing at Stafford University.
She retired from the Philipsburg State General Hospital in 1991 after working for 32 years. She was a member of the Kiwanis and a two-time past president.
She was married to Claude A. Sayers on June 26, 1959 in Grassflat. He survives at home in Philipsburg.
Mrs. Sayers is survived by two sons, Curtis A. Sayers of West Chester and Craig A. Sayers of Madison, WI and a brother, Willard R. Olson Jr. of Howard.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lanse, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Grassflat-Lanse Lutheran Cemetery, Lanse.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the church.
