Obituary Notice: Almeda “Mim” G. Sperling

Almeda “Mim” G. Sperling, 86, formerly of DuBois, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Christ the King Manor.

Born April 22, 1928 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Henry R. and Mary A. (Clinton) Moore. She retired from Brockway Glass after 37 years of service.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church of our Saviour in DuBois. She was active volunteer for the DuBois Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of the DRMC Auxiliary, and a past auxiliary board member.

She is survived by her children, Donna Wells and her husband, John, Mitzi Kear and her husband, Dale and Wendy Componation and her husband, Bryan, all of DuBois, and Bradley Sperling and his wife, Eva of Frisco, Texas; one sister, Claudia Shaffer of DuBois; five grandchildren, Stefanie, Amanda and Rebecca Kear and Ryan and Addison Sperling; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Colin Horner.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Handgartner, Arlene Weiler and Katherine Rokosky; two infant sisters, Geraldine and Collene Moore; an infant brother, Henry Moore; and a brother, Harry Moore.

There will be no public visitation, and private services held at the convenience of the family at Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

The Goble-Baronick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be sent to DRMC Hospice, 100 Hospital Ave., and or Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Ave., and or Church of Our Saviour, 400 Liberty Blvd., all of DuBois, PA 15801.
