Anna Mae Michaels, 86, of the Mountain Laurel Nursing and RehabilitationCenter in Clearfield, and formerly of Curwensville, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at the ClearfieldHospital.

Born Nov. 30, 1926 in Bells Landing, she was the daughter of John and Josephine (Smith) Anderson.  Mrs. Michaels had been employed as a trimmer for Kent Sportswear and was affiliated with the FaithBibleChurch in LumberCity.

On Sept. 2, 1946, she wed George William Michaels, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1967. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, George William Michaels Jr., four sisters, Sara Viola Passmore, Kathryn Anderson, Lula Belle Grove and Violet Ramser and three brothers, Cecil, Elsworth and Edward Anderson.  She was the last member of her generation.

Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Ann Summers and her husband, Peter and Nancy Jane Royer and her husband, Daniel, both of Clearfield; five grandchildren, Tammy Sunderland and her husband, Dave, Peter William Summers, Melissa Farmery and her husband, Dan, Daniel Royer Jr. and his wife, Amy and Brian Royer and his companion, Stacy; and nine great-grandchildren, Keith Barrett, Jayce Sunderland, Danielle Royer,  Christopher Verbeck, Nicole Beish, Daniel Royer III, Dana Royer, Dravon Royer and Daevon Royer.

Services for Mrs. Michaels will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the OldZionCemetery, Berwinsdale.

Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday and again from 12 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Kenneth William Bungo, 45, of Ginter died Friday, May 17, 2013.

He was born Sept. 22, 1967 in Philipsburg, a son of Eugene D. and Sandra L. (Wilkinson) Bungo of Smithmill.

He was a 1989 graduate of the MoshannonValleyHigh School and served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked as a truck driver for Castelli Oil & Gas Services and previously for RNI Trucking of Falls Creek.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Natasha Mulhall of Clearfield; a son, Peter G. Bungo of Pittsburgh; and a grandson.

He’s survived by two sisters, Tina Ransorf and her husband, Jim of Philipsburg and Kathy Brown and her husband, Patrick of Viola; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter and Vivian “Betty” Bungo and his maternal grandparents, Elwood and Helen Wilkinson.

A Parastas Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey, with Fr. Paul Bigelow officiating.

Shirley Ann Shaffer, 79, of Tonawanda, NY, and formerly of Frenchville, died Friday, May 17, 2013 at her home.

She was born Oct. 14, 1933, a daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Valimont) Dunlap. Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family.

She was also a representative for Avon for several years. In addition, she enjoyed making various crafts out of leather and tending to her garden.

Mrs. Shaffer was a graduate of ClearfieldAreaHigh School in the class of 1951. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville.

She is survived by her husband, William Shaffer; a daughter, Kristina Marie Noworyta and her husband, Mark of Tonawanda, NY; and two grandchildren, Sarah Ann and Jeffrey William Noworyta.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Swales.

A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville with the Rev. David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Friends will be received from4 p.m. – 8 a.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday at the church.

Lois K. Bunnell, 98, a resident of Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield, died Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Born Nov. 25, 1914 in Carrolltown, she was the daughter of John and Minnie (Schlatter) Kelly. 

She was employed as an elementary teacher for the CentralCambriaSchool District.  She was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. 

She was also a member of GFWC Women’s Club in Curwensville. She was also a volunteer for the Bloodmobile.

She is survived by a son, John Bunnell and his wife, Nancy of Walltown; her grandchildren Bree, Laura and Brady; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Colleen Scelesky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frances X. “Bill” Connell; her second husband, James R. Bunnell; a sister, Mina Prindible; and three brothers, Edward, Gerard and Harold Kelly.  She was the last member of her generation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be held in HillcrestMemorialGardens, Vero BeachFlorida.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 9 a.m. until the procession departs for the church at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The rosary will be recited on at 6 p.m. Tuesday with the Scripture Vigil Service at 8 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Margaret Virginia Rebecca Delbrugge, 81, of Clearfield died Friday, May 22, 2013 at her residence.  She was the wife of 56 years to the late Gerald V. “Jerry” Delbrugge from Sept. 23, 1951 until his death in Oct. 23, 2007.

Born June 9, 1931 in Cedartown, GA, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Margaret J. (Stroup) Rowell.

Mrs. Delbrugge was of the Catholic faith.  She was formally trained and certified in dietary services and became food service supervisor at HutchesonMemorialHospital in Fort Ogelthrope, GA.  She worked at that position until becoming a mother. 

After several years as a full-time housewife, she balanced several part-time jobs with domestic duties. She participated in outdoor activities, including fishing and gardening.  Indoor interests were baking, particularly with foods she had grown or harvested from the wild, and she practiced a variety of knitting techniques.

Surviving are a son, Gerald Vincent Delbrugge Jr. of Indiana; two grandchildren, Eric Anthony Delbrugge and Madison McKenzie Delbrugge; and a special friend and caregiver, Maggie “Muggs” Knepp of Woodland.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; eight brothers, Edward, Horace, Charlie, Winford, Lewis, twins C.J. and J.C., and Monroe and a sister, Lollie.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Margaret Virginia Rebecca Delbrugge will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee officiating.  A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in CrownCrestMemorial Park, Hyde.

Grace Kelly, 81, of Irvona died Friday, May 17, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 9, 1932 in Oak Hill, the daughter of the late Paul and Marie Repasky Hoffman.

She worked as a caregiver for the Clear Haven Home and the Park View Personal Care Home. She also worked at McGregor Sportswear.

Surviving are sons, Richard Rowles of Irvona, Francis Rowles and his wife, Glenda of Croft and Terry Kelly and his wife, Renea of Osceola Mills and a daughter, Judy Hixon and her husband, Clare of Curwensville.

Also surviving are brothers, William Hoffman of Moshannon, George Hoffman of Clearfield and Paul Hoffman of Oak Hill; a sister, Della Hoffman of Oak Hill; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Rowles, a daughter, Evonne Snedden and her husband, Francis Kelly.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Lloyd-Dimmcik Funeral Home Inc. of Irvona.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Pastor George Soley officiating. Burial will follow in the OakHillCemetery.

Doloris L. “MOM MOM” Shaw, 90, of West Decatur died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late John Edward and Dora George (Nash) McTigue born Sept. 14, 1922 in Philipsburg.

Mrs. Shaw was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, and the Order of Sons of Italy, Lodge #189. 

She was formerly a member of the Philipsburg Country Club. She was an avid golfer and member of the National Hole-In-One Association.  She also enjoyed sewing, painting and collecting dolls. 

Mrs. Shaw was a published poet with the International Library of Poetry.  She was also the owner and instructor of the Shaw – Ghaner School of Dance for more than 60 years.

She was a graduate of the PhilipsburgHigh School and the Adele Allens School of Cosmetology in Altoona, where she received her cosmetology license.  Mrs. Shaw also maintained professional membership with the Dance Educators of America and Dance Masters of America. 

She loved teaching children the art of dance and touched the lives of thousands of children throughout the area, with hopes of bringing the love of dance and culture to many.

Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by her first husband, Franklin Libreatori; her second husband, Russell G. Shaw in 2010; two daughters, Franquline Rae Libreatori and Frankalee Libreatori Nixon; a son-in-law, Harry J. Ghaner Sr.; two brothers; and one sister.  She was the last of her generation.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis M. Ghaner and Shawn M. Shaw, both of West Decatur and a son, Franklin G. Shaw of Ohio. 

She is also survived by, three grandchildren, Heather Ireland and her husband, Christopher of Surveyor, Harry J. Ghaner Jr. and his wife, Diane of Clearfield and Ian R. Shaw of Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Victoria M. and Devynn C. Ireland and Haidyn J. Ghaner; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield, with Monsignor H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant.  Burial will be at the PhilipsburgCemetery in Philipsburg.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.

Lucille M. Wells, 77, of DuBois and formerly of Salem died Monday, May 20, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born Dec. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucy (Smiley) Wells.

She was a member of the SalemUnitedMethodistChurch.

She is survived by two nieces, Mary Ann Himes and her husband, David and Lisa McCartney and her husband, Keith, both of Salem; a nephew, Keith Wells and his wife, Gail of Salem; and a brother-in-law, Dathan Swanson of DuBois.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, William and John Wells and a sister, Mary A. Swanson.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Howe officiating.

Marcia Kay Luciano, 70, of (Ashland) Osceola Mills died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at WindyHillVillage in Philipsburg.

She was the daughter of the late George G. and Irene (Philips) Luciano born May 28, 1942 in Brisbin.

Ms. Luciano was of the Christian faith. She retired as a LPN from the former Presbyterian Home in Philipsburg.  She had also worked for the former McCory’s in Philipsburg.

She was a 1960 graduate from the Philipsburg-OsceolaHigh School. She also graduated from the ClearfieldCountyCareer & TechnologyCenter in the Practical Nursing Program in the class of March of 1979.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Luciano was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Yarger and Jean Luciano and a brother, George Luciano.

She is survived by a sister, Judith A. Tedesco and her husband, David of Walnut Creek, CA and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Luciano of (Morgan Run) Osceola Mills.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Irene Lambert and her husband, Chris; Eileen Ball and her husband, Bill; Randy Yarger and his wife, Lana; Ronda Johnson and her husband, Matt; Rodney Yarger and his wife, Robin; Lynda Exley; Rick Yarger and his wife, Vicky; Marcia Shirey and her husband, Raymond; Jenny Kopchik and her husband, Dave; Judy Caldana and her husband, Tony; Clark Yarger; Michele Myers; Tina Kephart; Monica Luciano and her husband, Jeff Kohn; Loren Luciano; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 1 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Donald Smith officiating.  Burial will be at the IOOFCemetery in Brisbin.

Edna O. Summerson, 77, of Pottersdale died Monday, May 20, 2013 at her residence. Born Sept. 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Kline and Estella Moore Schmoke.

Mrs. Summerson was a member of the Pottersdale Bible Mission. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Frenchville. She had worked as a cook at the Quehanna Hotel for more than 30 years.

She married Glenn B. Summerson on May 17, 1958. He preceded her in death Sept. 24, 2006.

She’s survived by five daughters, Linda Glass and her husband, Harry and Tracy Perryman and her husband, Jesse, all of Bellefonte; Cynthia Summerson of Colorado Springs, CO; Mary Johnson and her husband, Thomas of Woodland; and Melissa McCracken and her husband, Ron of Pottersdale and three sons, Leard M. Schmoke and his wife, Sandra of Houtzdale; Andy R. Summerson and his wife, Joann of Osceola Mills; and Neal Summerson and his wife, Penny of Lowville, NY.

Also surviving are four sisters, Geneva Hess of Renova; Roberta Firestone of Pottersdale; Phoebe Borger of Moshannon; and Charlene Schmoke of Rochester Mills; two brothers, Orville Schmoke and Jan Schmoke, both of Pottersdale; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Summerson was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, with the Rev. Ronald Neese officiating. Burial will be in the Schmoke Cemetery, Pottersdale.

Vincent Rebar, 88, formerly of Houtzdale died Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Southeastern Veterans Medical Center, Spring City. He was born Jan. 2, 1925, at Houtzdale, a son of the late Micklas and Julia (Hanicherick) Rebar.

He attended the Madera High School and served in the U.S. Army as a truck driver in London, England during World War II. He was a coal miner and retired from the Ruston Coal Co, Osceola Mills.

He was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale and was a charter member and past Grand Knight of Our of the Valley Knights of Columbus Council 10376, Houtzdale.  He also was a member and past Faith Navigator of Pope John Paul II Fourth Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus, Clearfield.  He was a past president of the UMWA Local 1520 Osceola Mills and served as Sub-District Board Member of UMWA District 2 for many years.  He was a member of the American Legion Freeberg Post 591, Houtzdale.

On June 12, 1948 in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey, he married Helen L. (Supko) Rebar, who survives of Phoenixville.

He is also survived by a son and daughter, John A. Rebar of Douglassville and Kathy J. Rebar of Schwenksville and a granddaughter, Meredith M. Rebar of Philadelphia.

He is survived by three brothers, William Rebar of Curwensville; Leonard Rebar and his wife, Betty of Boardman; and Micklas Rebar and his wife, Darlene of Osceola Mills; two sisters, Julia A. Zendeck and her husband, Lawrence of Leesburg, VA and Mary Rose Rebar of Curwensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Paul and Andrew Rebar; two sisters, Margaret and Francis Rebar; and a daughter-in-law, Dee Rebar.

Friends will be received from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from

9 a.m. -10:15 a.m. Friday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey.  The Knights of Columbus will hold a memorial service at 8:45 p.m. Thursday and the Knights of Columbus Forth Degree

Assembly will perform the “Watch of the Dead”, both in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Stanley J. Swacha as celebrant.

Burial will follow with military honors, accorded by the American Legion, in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Houtzdale.

Ryan Michael Jacobson, 26, of Glen Richey died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Luzerne County due to a vehicle-pedestrian accident while at work.

He was born April 29, 1987 in Clearfield, the son of George L. and Suzann (Knepp) Jacobson of Glen Richey.

He was a graduate of the Clearfield Area High School in the class of 2005. He was employed with Pennlines.

Mr. Jacobson was an enthusiastic Penguins and Penn State fan. He enjoyed golfing, canoeing, riding, fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family.

He would be best known to his friends for his bright smile and infectious personality. He always wanted to bring smiles and happiness to those around him. He will be forever loved and missed by many.

He was Methodist by faith and was a member of the Glen Richey Fire Co.

In addition to his parents, he’s survived by his sister, Heather Rees and her husband, Jarrod of Clearfield; his brother, Tyler Jacobson of Glen Richey; his maternal grandfather, Melvin D. Knepp of Hyde; his nieces, Tayah Renee Rees and Aria Arin Rees; his aunts and uncles, Rita Jacobson, Richard and Lois Mitchell and John Jacobson, all of Glen Richey and Melvin and Jody Knepp of Bigler; numerous cousins; and his beloved K9 Boxer, Nikita.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Aaron L. Jacobson, who died Oct. 26, 2002; his paternal grandparents, Hjalmer V. and Mary V. Jacobson; his maternal grandmother, Rowena P. Knepp; his uncle, Ronald Jacobson; and his aunt, Mary Joan Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Lay Pastor Leanne Peters officiating. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery, Glen Richey.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and from 12 p.m. until the hour of the services Sunday at the funeral home.

Obituary Notice: Leo John Klebacha

Leo John Klebacha, 92, of DuBois died Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home.

Born March 7, 1921 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mroczka) Klebacha.

A veteran of World War II, he was a corporal in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was married to Wanda (Clinchoc) Klebacha.  She preceded him in death in 1989.

Mr. Klebacha retired as a heavy equipment operator for Krach-Gearhart Coal Company after more than 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 540 in Reynoldsville.  He was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed watching stock car races at the Hummingbird Speedway.  He especially loved to tinker in “Lee’s Odd Job Shop.”

Mr. Klebacha is survived by two sons, Leo J. Klebacha and his wife, Patty of DuBois and Gary L. Klebacha of Rathmel; two grandchildren, Matthew Klebacha and Jessica Hazuda; and one great-grandson, Cameron Klebacha.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Charles J. “Joe” Scholl, 77, DuBois died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence. Born July 26, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Nora C. (Johnston) Scholl.

After graduation from the DuBois Area High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet mechanic during the Korean War.

He retired from U.S. Steel in Fairless Hills after many years of service.  After retirement, he worked at Pathmark Groceries for 10 years.

Mr. Scholl was Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his sister with whom he made his home with for the past 12 years, Grace Stankavich of DuBois and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Keister and two brothers, Merle and James Scholl.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.

Geraldine E. Walburn, 78, of Greenville Grampian RD, died at her residence Sunday, May 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 1, 1934 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Clarence and Carrie Helen (Friedline) Mahlon.

She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Greenville Church of the Brethren.

She was a former president of the Luthersburg PTA and a member of Bilger’s Rocks Association. She was active with Camp Host at Pymatuning State Park and in the Brethren Disaster Projects.

On June 12, 1953, she wed William “Bill” Walburn, who survives along with nine children, Sharon Vaux and her husband, Butch and Dennis Walburn and his wife, Teri and Chris Walburn and his wife, Deb, all of Luthersburg, Marsha Stetser of New Jersey, Randy Walburn and his wife, Diana of Sykesville, Larry Walburn and his wife, Karen of Avon, IN, Brenda Ferguson of Grampian, Gail Maag and her husband, Larry of Horsham and Jeff Walburn and his wife, Kim of Brookville.

Also surviving are 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Mahlon and his wife, Wilma of Grampian and Harold Mahlon Sr. of Rockton; and special family friends, Dr. Earl Morgan and his wife, Susan of Brockport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son—in-law, Dan Stetser; and an infant sister, Bonnie Jean Mahlon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greenville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dale Rummel officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church.

Jeanette Marie Hoover, 74, of Winburne died Friday, May 24, 2013 at the UPMC – Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born April 6, 1939 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Newton L. and Rosanna Little Stark.

Ms. Hoover was of the Catholic faith.

She was a graduate of the Cooper High School. She was a member of AMVETS in Philipsburg and LOOM #941 of Grassflat.

She’s survived by two sons, Douglas Baylay of Winburne and Daniel Bayley and his companion, Stephanie of Bigler; one granddaughter, Ashlin Dodge and one great-grandson, Waylon Dodge, both of Houtzdale.

Also surviving are two brothers, Newton G. Stark of Huntingdon and Thomas J. Stark and his wife, Donna of Woodland; a niece, Brittany Stark of Woodland; and a former husband, Miles Hoover of Winburne.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, William L. Steele.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat, with the Father David A. Perry Jr. officiating. Burial will be at the St. Severin Roman Catholic Cemetery, Drifting.

Sophie S. DuFour, 89, of Windy Hill Village died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Windy Hill Village. Born March 4, 1924 in Parsonville in rural Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late Nicklas and Anna Rucher Kislack.

On Sept. 26, 1942 in Parsonville, she married Alexander DuFour, who preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1991.

She was a member of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Osceola Mills.

She’s survived by two daughters, Deloris Puza of Philipsburg, NJ and Eleanor Coleman and her husband, Jerry of Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a sister, Mamie Frankovich of Ginter and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Diggins, four brothers, Alex, Mike, John and Steven and three sisters, Helen, Anna and Elsie.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Osceola Mills, with Archimandrite Jacob Piruta officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

There will not be any public visitation.

Geraldine R. “Gerry” Pezalski, 91 formerly of Philipsburg died Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Fairways of Brookline in State College, where she had resided for the past two years.

Born Sept. 18, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Pasqualina (Alberalla) Ruggiero and the youngest of 10 children.

She was a 1940 graduate of the Philipsburg High School.  Upon her graduation, she accepted a secretarial position at the Wolf Furniture Store in Philipsburg and worked there for six years.

On Sept. 21, 1946 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, she married Raymond H. Pezalski Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2001.  They moved to Niagara Falls until 1948 and then returned to their hometown and raised their family.

In 1964, she accepted a receptionist position at Mid-State Bank, where her friendly smile welcomed customers until her retirement in 1986.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and aunt.  Her laughter, kindness and generous heart are memories her family and friends will always cherish.

She loved to cook and always made more than enough food when entertaining family and friends.  Her rice pudding was revered by everyone.  She enjoyed card games and shopping sprees with her friends and spending time with her family.  She was also an avid fan of Penn State football.

She was a lifelong member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg and the Alter and Rosary Society.

She’s survived by a son, Raymond H. Pezalski and his wife, Cynthia of Boalsburg; a daughter, Linda K. Stevens and her husband, John of Stormstown; two sisters, Anna and Connie Ruggiero of Philipsburg; five grandchildren, Carrie Lamb and her husband, Dr. Paul Lamb of Philipsburg, Dr. Tyler Pezalski and his wife, Jocelyn of Southern Pines, NC, Caitlin Dare and her husband, Eric of State College, Bret Stevens of Occoquan, VA, Matt Stevens and his wife, Jessica of Langhorne; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin infant great-granddaughters; six brothers; and one sister.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, with the Rev. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant.  Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Philipsburg.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home in Philipsburg.  The rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Aredas F. Lanager, 76, of Karthaus died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. Born July 25, 1936 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Annetta Holt McGonigal.

Mrs. Lanager was a member of the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus. She attended the Cooper Township High School.

She married Cyrus Raymond Lanager Jr. on July 28, 1962 at the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2006.

She’s survived by two daughters, Cynthia Paul and her companion, Ray Rees and Deborah A. Miller Collar and her companion, Wayne Graybill, all of Karthaus and four sons, Nelson Miller and his companion, Janet Klees of Karthaus, Raymond Lanager III and his wife, Ruth and Joseph A. Lanager and his wife, Margaret, all of Hawk Run and Robert Lanager and his wife, Cynthia of Frenchville.

Also surviving are a sister, Jean Troutman of Claymont, DE and a brother, George McGonigal of Lecontes Mills, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lanager, two sisters, Helen Potter and Grace Weaver and seven brothers, Ralph, Harold, Carl, Raymond, Neil, Leonard and James McGonigal.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church, Karthaus, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Home, Morrisdale, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the church.

Robert D. Kitchen, 73, of Madera went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 27, 2013 at his residence.

He’s survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Joanne Rougeux; a son Kelly; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl; and grandchildren, Michael and Casandra, all of Madera. He’s also survived by two sisters, a brother and several nieces and nephews.

He was employed for nearly 40 years as a long haul truck driver.

At Mr. Kitchen’s request, there will be no public visitation and services will be private.
