Obituary Notice: Arthur C. “Mike” Eirich (Provided photo)

Arthur C. “Mike” Eirich, 70, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and formerly of Osceola Mills, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 at the Gold Coast Hospice in the Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Born Sept. 1, 1946 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Harry and Eleanor (Mayes) Eirich. Mr. Eirich was of the Christian faith.

Mr. Eirich was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1966 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and a member of the American Legion in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,

He was retired from Mr. X Brake Exchange in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as the manager and corporate vice president.  He was a 1964 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Moyer and one brother, Harry Eirich.

He is survived by one son, Michael B. Eirich and his wife, Georgette of Morrisdale; one sister, Karen Dixon of Osceola Mills; two brothers, John F. Eirich of Tyrone and James L. Eirich Sr. and his wife, Doris of Osceola Mills; and three grandchildren, Taylor, Caitlin and Matthew Eirich.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Jim Hollister officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.

Thomas L. Berry,   93, of Clearfield died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born Sept. 25, 1923, a son of the late James F. and Catherine B. (Buckley) Berry.

Mr. Berry began his career employed as a fireman on the New York Central Railroad.  He then worked at Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven and Ryan Brothers Contracting in Clearfield. 

He retired from PennDOT as a licensed registered professional engineer, where he started as a draftsman. 

In his younger days, Mr. Berry held a pilot’s license and owned his own airplane.  He also was a licensed Hamm Radio Operator.

Mr. Berry had many interests throughout his life.  He was an avid reader and frequented the public library in search of new books. 

He was a volunteer tutor for the Mid-State Literacy Council.  He was a member of the Chinklacamoose Square Dance Club where he and his wife, Jean, enjoyed dancing together. 

He held memberships with the Frequent-C-Flyer Radio Control Aircraft Club and the Knights of Columbus, Clearfield. He was also past president and a member of the board of directors for the Clearfield County Housing Authority. 

He was also a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where he volunteered in many positions. 

Mr. Berry served his country during World War II as part of the 283rd Field Artillery Battalion with the U.S. Army. 

He saw action in northern Europe and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in battle.

He is survived by and was a devoted father of eight children, Tom Berry and his wife, Susan of Battle Creek, Mich., John Berry and his wife, Peggy and Barbara Davis-Bartley and her husband, Don, both of Clearfield, Kate Pursel and her husband, Bill of New Cumberland, Margaret Berry of Sacramento, Calif., Joe Berry and his wife, Yvonne of Pearland, Texas, Fred Berry and his wife, Shelli of Grampian and Bob Berry and his wife, Janine of Harding; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (McLaughlin) Berry, on Feb. 4, 2011 and to whom he was wed June 9, 1951.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, and he was the last member of his generation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with the Rev. Brandon M. Kleckner as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield, or the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield.

James D. Mohney,   92, of Clearfield died on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at his home.

He was born March 1, 1925, a son of the late Donald L. and Gertrude (Burchfield) Mohney.

Mr. Mohney began his teaching career at Tyrone High School, where he also served as the wrestling coach.  After nine years, he moved to Long Branch, NJ where he taught for 19 years. 

At Long Branch, he started the wrestling program, and he was admitted into the NJ Shore Conference Coaching Hall of Fame. 

Mr. Mohney then moved back to Clearfield and was a teacher and became vice principal at the Clearfield High School until his retirement in 1987. 

Mr. Mohney had many accomplishments with his involvement in wrestling.  He was twice named a state champion in high school wrestling at Clearfield High School. 

He was also an Allegany Senior and Junior AAU Champ along with becoming an EIWA Champ while wrestling for Penn State.

Mr. Mohney was admitted to the Clearfield Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, along with being a member of the Pennsylvania Coaching Hall of Fame, Pennsylvania District 9 Coaching Hall of Fame, Tyrone Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Penn State University Hall of Fame. 

Mr. Mohney not only coached wrestling, but was also an official for 25 years on both the high school and collegiate levels.

He was a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks No. 540. 

Mr. Mohney served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, completing 35 combat missions in the South Pacific as an engineer gunner.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Burgess) Mohney, to whom he was wed Oct. 8, 1949.

He is survived by four children, James L. Mohney and his wife, Doreen of Lewes, Del., Gary V. Mohney and his wife, Belinda of Montgomery, Ala., Cindy L. Mohney of Bellefonte and Paula J. Kontier and her husband, John of Centre Hall.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Mohney of Clearfield; and a sister, Betty Fargo of Clearfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack ‘John Pinrose,’ William ‘Bill,” Robert ‘Bob,’ and Richard ‘Dick’ Mohney and three sisters, Edith Felt, Margaret Valimont and Mary Jane Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Mr. Gary V. Mohney, son, officiating. 

Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde, at a later date, to be determined by the immediate family.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Honor Guard detail from Andrews Air Force Base.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

John J. Labosky, 43, of DuBois died Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at his home.

Born Nov. 23, 1973 in Ypsilanti, Mich., he was the son of John J. Labosky, who survives and lives in Edina, Minn., and the late Ellen Kay (Finger) Overton.

He is survived by two brothers, Joseph E. Labosky of Minneapolis, Minn., and Andrew J. Labosky of Reno, Nev.

There will be no public visitation. There will be a celebration of life from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday at the Gateway Café on Maple Avenue, DuBois.

David F. Duttry, 77, of DuBois died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at Nelson’s Golden Years.

Born March 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Edith (Turner) Duttry.

On Nov. 9, 1959, he married Nancy A. (Noker) Duttry, who preceded him in death in 2012.

He worked as a mechanic for a Ford Tractor Dealer in Lorain, Ohio for 12 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by five children, Gladine Cooper (Merritt) and Suzanne Tressler (James), both of DuBois, and Elizabeth Palmer (Richard), Ruby Irizarry (Alberto) and Irene Demich (Raymond), all of Lorain, Ohio.

He is also survived by one sister, Edith Fridley of DuBois, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Ted and Vernon Duttry and one sister, Mary Wingert.

Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc.

Robert A. Hanna Sr., 75, of Houtzdale died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at Ridgeview Eldercare, Curwensville.

Born Oct. 31, 1941 in Akron, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mabel (Webster) Hanna.

On Sept. 1, 1971, he married Kathryn C (Rowles) Hanna, who preceded him in death Aug. 29, 2015.

He was a member and past master of the Osceola Lodge No. 515, Free and Accepted Masons, Jaffa Shrine Altoona and Houtzdale Loyal Order of Moose No. 327. He was a life member of the Houtzdale Fire Co.

He was employed by Stott Coal Co., Rudd Equipment Co., and Philipsburg State Hospital. He retired from the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale.

He is survived by his children, Susan (Dan) Sedgwick, Ken Smith, Robert Hanna Jr. and his companion, Laurie, Kris Swatsworth and Ginger Hanna (Donald) Hayward, all of Houtzdale, James Hanna of Texas and Kori Smith (Mike) Lindgren of Florida.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a brother, Raymond (Jean) Hanna of Osceola Mills.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, Tim Hanna.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Smith officiating.

A masonic funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, and it will be followed by the Houtzdale Fire Co. memorial service at 7 p.m. Both will be at the funeral home.

William “Billy” Joseph Williams, 47, the beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, was called home to our Lord too soon on Sept. 5, 2017. He was taken from our arms, though never from our hearts.

He was born Aug. 29, 1970 in Clearfield. He was a 1989 graduate of the West Branch High School.

He was an avid lover of hunting, fishing, and sports. He lettered in wrestling, football and baseball, and his talents so outstanding they won him a baseball scholarship to OKCU.

In 1990, he played in the NJCAA World Series in Allegheny. In 1994, he was drafted as a minor league baseball pitcher, beginning his career in Erie and then relocating with the team to Johnstown and finally Springfield, Ill.

Through all obstacles, he and his baseball brothers went on to win three consecutive championships.

He was full of life and had the gift of making others laugh and helping them see life in a different light. He had a free spirit and would help a stranger with his last dime.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Madison and sons, Cameron and Gavin; mother, JoAnn Cirillo Bailor; father and step-mother, George “Peach” and Sandra Williams; sisters, Georgette, who’s married to Michael Eirich, and Jolene Hummel; brothers, Scott and Shane Williams; former spouse, Emma Lienhardt, the mother of Madison; numerous nieces and nephews; many cousins and extended family; and many friends who were like his family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Mary Jane “Checkbook” Williams, Chester and Beatrice Bailor and James and Margaret Turner.

Family and friends are invited in celebrating his life from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Hollister officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the name of Madison Williams to the funeral home.

Jackie R. Lyda, 73, died at his home in Spencerport, NY on Sept. 15, 2017.

He was a native of Clearfield and a resident of the Greater Rochester area for over three decades.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and, as a pioneer in the field of respiratory therapy, he served as hospital administrator, professor, program developer and mentor to many over a career that spanned five decades.

In retirement, he continued to serve his community as a Veterans of Foreign Wars chaplain, GED instructor and public health advocate. A life-long athlete, he competed in track and field well into his 60’s.

In the history of humankind, no one has ever enjoyed mowing lawns more than Mr. Lyda, and, to be sure, heaven now has its newest groundskeeper.

He was preceded in death by his father, William James Lyda; his mother, Naomi Elizabeth Lyda; his daughter, Kristine Lyda; and his sisters, Lucy Mae Lyda, Lillian Strickland, Gloria Wright and Margaret Hardrick.

He is survived by his children, Jack II (Betty), James (Angela) and Elizabeth (Thierry); grandchildren, Haley, Taylor, Naomi, Maximilian and Franklin; siblings, Georgianna Massey, Patricia Stewart, Allen Lyda, Sharon Chisholm, Crystal Adams, Eugene Lyda and Fay Alice Lyda; former spouses, Eva Lyda and Debra Lyda; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.

An educator to the very end, Mr. Lyda chose to donate his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

A small memorial ceremony with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

Obituary Notice: Teresa Ann Graham

Teresa Ann Graham, 53, of Wallaceton went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Born Nov. 20, 1963 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Alfred Dixon and Barbara E. MacTavish Dixon, who survives in Wallaceton.

On July 7, 1986 in Morrisdale, she wed Darrel F. Graham Jr., who survives in Wallaceton.

Surviving are her sister, Tina M. Bergum of West Decatur and her brothers, Thomas A. Dixon and his wife, Brenda L., of West Decatur and Tyson L. Dixon and his wife, Kim of Lock Haven.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Frances MacTavish; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Virginia Dixon; and a brother-in-law, Patrick Bergum.

She was affiliated with the Methodist faith. She was a graduate of the Philipsburg Area High School and a member of the Centre Hill Grange for more than 30 years.

She loved her flowers. She was an avid gardener and loved canning and baking. She loved to share her canning and baking, but after sharing, she was still asked for more.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel of Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, with the family officiating. Burial will be in the Bigler Cemetery, Bigler.

Family and friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, and again from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of services.

Aletha M. Little, 92, of Clearfield died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born May 8, 1925 in Harrisville, a daughter of the late Peter and Nellie (McCamey) Shoemaker.

Mrs. Little was employed by Piper Aircraft, retiring in 1980.  She was a former social member of Frenchville Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Little and Richard Little; two granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer; and a sister, Lauretta Sparks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Little in 1967; two sisters, Winona Funk and Lois Martin; and a brother, Robert Shoemaker.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth Leonard officiating.  Burial will be in the Keewaydin Cemetery, Frenchville.

Dorothy P. Light, 97, of Ramey died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 in Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.

Born April 27, 1920 in Grassflat, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Folmar) Mann.

She was a member of the Parsonville Assembly of God. She worked as a seamstress for JBC.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Kerr Sr., Louie Braca and Melvin Light; five children, Melvin Kerr Jr., Myrl Kerr, Sarah Spencer, Delores Burton and Linda Spencer; three brothers, Thomas, Bernard and Lester Mann; a sister, Margaret Roach; four grandchildren, Melvin, Terry, and Donald Spencer and Ricky Kerr; and great-granddaughters, Jessica Wills and Autumn Dawn Spencer.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Richard Kerr of Houtzdale and sisters, Madeline Gardner of Ramey, Verna Round of McCartney and Hazel Gardner of New York.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Ramey, with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating. Burial will be private.

James H. Couturiaux, 76, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at his home.

Born Dec. 15, 1940 in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Henry and Florence (Myers) Couturiaux. 

He married Jean (Carson) Couturiaux on Jan. 27, 1962 in Philipsburg. She survives at home.

He was of the Christian faith and retired from PennDOT.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Bette Jo Miller of New Jersey and Barbara Crispell and her companion, Art Conklin and Brenda Myers and her husband, William, both of Osceola Mills, and one son, James T. Couturiaux and his wife, Debbie of Mill Hall.

He is also survived by one brother, Thomas Ellis and his wife, Margaret of Philipsburg; 11 grandchildren, James, Brenda, Misty, William R., Jenny, Jamie, William, David, James, Briana and Kiley; 16 great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Jake.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with Pastor Janet Kephart officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Denise N. Bienus, 47, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017 at her home.

Born April 18, 1970 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Roger L. Cartright of Sandy Ridge and the late Linda L. (Clutter) Cartright.

She married David A. Bienus on Aug. 2, 1991 in Fayetteville, NC. He survives at home.

She was of the Christian faith.

She had formerly worked for the Penn State University as an accountant. She was a 1988 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Mills High School; she also graduated from the Eastern Washington University at Cheney, Wash.

In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by one daughter, Alyssa N. Bienus of Philipsburg; one brother, Michael D. Cartright and his wife, Ada of San Antonio, Texas; and one grandson, Lucas Jones.

There will be no viewing or funeral service.

Monnabelle Edna (Coble) Youstic, 89, of Lanse went to be with the Lord at her daughter Cynthia’s home in Lanse on Sept. 25, 2017.

Born April 21, 1928 in Kylertown, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Mildred Welker Coble.

On Nov. 26, 1945, she married Alex Youstic, who preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1973.

Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Kephart and her husband, Cleve of Lanse and her sons, Alex Youstic II (Butch) and his wife, Rose of Cary, NC, Anthony Youstic and his wife, Virginia and Kris Youstic and his wife, Robin, both of Kylertown, and Paul Youstic of Newark, Del.

She’s also survived by her sisters, Sarah Cerifko and her husband, Mike of Chambersburg, Mary Kephart and her husband, Sharon of Woodland, Leenora Knepp and her husband, Bill of Clearfield and Helen Donley of Julian; her brothers, Willard Coble of Clearfield and Edwin Coble and his wife, Violetta of Philipsburg; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Youstic; an infant grandson, Jonathan Michael Youstic; a sister, June Irwin; and brothers, Gilbert, Thomas, Mahlon and Theodore Coble.

She was of the Catholic faith and attended the Protestant faith. She was the owner/operator of the former Route 53 Auction Barn, Kylertown-Drifting Highway, and she had been a seamstress for Navasky & Co., Philipsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of the Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale. Burial will be in Messiah Baptist Cemetery, Lanse.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Daniel Joseph “Dan” Williams, 47, of Philipsburg died Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Aug. 5, 1970 in Clearfield, a son of Ottis W. and Elda M. (Maines) Williams, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a 1988 graduate of Philipsburg – Osceola Area High School. He was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing and baseball in his spare time.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ottis “Butch” Williams Jr. and Jon “BeBe” A. Williams, in addition to his parents.

He is survived by two sisters, Cynthia E. Williams of Philipsburg and Annette I. Martell and her husband, Ray of Frenchville; two brothers, David E. Williams of Clearfield and Edward A. Williams of Atlantic, RD Houtzdale; and a number of nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Services Notice: Donald D. Bloom and K. Lorraine Bloom

Memorial services for Donald Dwight Bloom and his wife, Kathryn Lorraine (Valimont) Bloom will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at the West Side United Methodist Church, Clearfield.

The Rev. Thomas Young will be officiating the services. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery of Curwensville.

Mr. Bloom died Jan. 29, 2016 and Mrs. Bloom died July 25, 2017.

The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph F. Marrara, 86, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born Oct. 18, 1930 in Staten Island, NY, a son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Moore) Marrara.

Mr. Marrara owned and operated Clearfield Distributing Co., from 1945 until his retirement. 

He enjoyed watching football and baseball; however, his biggest joy was spending time with his family. 

Mr. Marrara also cherished traveling, camping and going on cruises.  In fact, he and his family have visited most of the U.S. states.  He will be remembered for his quick wit and gift of conversation.

Mr. Marrara was a member of the Clearfield American Legion, Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars, the former Fourth Ward Fire Co., and most of the social organizations in the area.  He was a proud life member of the Clearfield Sons and Daughters of Italy No. 189.

He attended Centre Grove United Methodist Church, Clearfield. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Neff) Marrara, and five children, Cindy Bogacki, Sharron McBride and her husband, Dave, William Marrara and Sean Rockmore, all of Clearfield, and Patricia Aughenbaugh of Curwensville.

He’s also survived by 11 grandchildren, Travis, Mindy, Amanda and her husband, Sean, Jennifer and her husband, Korey, Michael, Alycia, Casey, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Pru and Nolyn and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Military honors will be accorded at cemetery by the members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 108R N. Second St., Suite 1B, Clearfield, or to the charity of choice.

Randy L. Harrier Jr. became an angel with his loving wife by his side, Rebecca (Marlowe) Harrier, both of whom were from Kent, NY, following a tragic accident. He joined her in heaven, Monday Sept. 18, 2017.

He was born to Randy Sr. and Debra (Walker) Harrier on Dec. 1, 1977 in Philipsburg. His beautiful wife, Becky, was born July 29, 1979 in Brockport, NY.

He was an active volunteer firefighter with the Carlton Fire Co., and he was employed by Orchard Dale Fruit Co.

His wife had recently graduated college and was happily looking forward to their bright future together. Their happiness in life was their children, Andrew, 18, Kari, 14, and Amber, 10.

He is also survived by his parents, Randy and Debra Harrier Sr.; sister, Melissa (Kyle) Merritt; niece, Karlee Merritt of Kent, NY; and his remaining family in Pennsylvania.

His wife was employed at GCASA of Albion and enjoyed her work. She is survived by her parents, Betty and Will Marlowe, and her brother, Bill Marlowe of Holley.

The couple loved both animals and kids with a great passion.

Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery, Osceola Mills, where his grandfather will be by his side. His wife will join him there, as they always will be good together.

Now, they will be together forever in the Lord’s hands in heaven. All of whom they have touched in this life will sadly miss them.

A private family memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Centre United Methodist Church, Osceola Mills, with Pastor Beth Stutler officiating.

David M. Anderson, 62, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born Dec. 16, 1954 in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to the late De Verl H. Anderson and Beverly M. (Thurston) Anderson.

He was employed as a union iron worker for more than 35 years at the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers.

He was Christian by faith. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 812 and Clearfield Moose Lodge 9.

He loved woodworking and going to his camp, Wicked Bottom. He was always spending time with his family and friends, baking the perfect cookies, cooking and most of all caring for his pets.

He leaves behind three wonderful children, Denise Rubly and her husband, Kevin, Samantha Sullivan and her husband, Mike and Jonathan Levine, all of Clearfield; six grandchildren Briana, Cassie and Marissa Rubly and Michael, Trenton and future baby girl, Sullivan; and his loving animals, Cheech, Willie and Joe.

Additionally he is survived by three siblings, Rae Jean Williams, De Vaughn Anderson and Darrell Anderson.

His parents and two ex-wives, Lori Anderson and Joanne Anderson, preceded him in death.

Friends and family are invited to the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. for a time of sharing from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Monday with a Celebration of Life Service to follow with the Rev. John F. White officiating.

Mary M. Rowles, 83, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Ms. Rowles was born April 21, 1934 in Woodland, the daughter of Chance and Mable (Brown) Rowles.

She had worked for Kent Sportswear as a seamstress. Ms. Rowles was Methodist by faith.

She was a big supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Hospital and had a passion for photography.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry A. Evans of Hyde; two grandchildren, Angi Sloppy and her husband, Steve of Clearfield and Jeremiah Evans of Reynoldsville; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Lyla Sloppy; a sister, Nancy Maines of West Decatur; and many nieces and nephews.

Ms. Rowles was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred Lansberry and Lorraine Peters; and seven brothers, Claire, Robert, Frederick, Paul, Ellwood, Wayne and Gerald Rowles.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with Pastor W. Lee Casher officiating. Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services at the funeral home.
