Obituary Notice: Marie F. Stott

Marie F. Stott, 80, of Curwensville died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at the Dubois Nursing Home.

Born April 27, 1935 in Berwinsdale, she was the daughter of Glenn and Jennie (Hunter) Rowles.  She previously worked for Shortway Products and Superior Pet.

She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also an avid bowler participating in numerous leagues at the Clearfield Lanes.

She attended the Curwensville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Dale Stott and his wife, Jennifer of Kissimmee, Fla., Susan Cathcart and her husband, Randy of Clarion and Lee Stott and his wife, Sharon of Grampian.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Cory Cathcart, Kyle Cathcart, Aaron Stott and Breanna Stott; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Stott; two brothers, Terry Rowles and his wife, Carole and Floyd Rowles and his wife, Maxine, all of Olanta.

On March 27, 1953 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, she wed Robert Stott, who preceded her in death in November of 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

At the request of Mrs. Stott, there will be no visitation, and private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can either be made to the American Cancer Society 26 S. Second St., Suite 102, Clearfield, PA 16830, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Obituary Notice: William J. Buterbaugh

William J. Buterbaugh, 81, of Troutville and formerly of Brockway, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at his home. Born Aug. 14, 1934 in Brockway, he was the son of the late William G. and Florence P. (Everett) Buterbaugh.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He made his home with his companion, Diane Galentine, for more than 40 years.

He was a school van driver for Jewell Bus Company. Prior to that, he was a roofing contractor. He had also worked at the General Pershing Hotel.

He enjoyed working on cars and playing the lottery.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy Bailey of DuBois; his brother, Raymond Everett of Indiana, Pa.; and his best friend, his dog, “Little Man.”

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Buterbaugh and his sister, Florence Quigley.

Friends will be received from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating.

Burial will be in Beechtree Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Obituary Notice: Lois Ann Dungey Aughenbaugh

Lois Ann Dungey Aughenbaugh, 81, of DuBois died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born Jan. 26, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” E. and Annie (Oyston) Dungey.

She worked for many years at K-Mart in DuBois, holding several positions, but she was most known for managing the cafeteria.

She was a lifetime member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in DuBois, where she was involved with the ECW, the Altar Guild, the Tuesday Bible Study Group, Bell Choir and she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was also a Hospice volunteer and enjoyed quilting, bowling, gardening and flowers.  She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.  She enjoyed cooking and was well-known for her award winning pies. She especially enjoyed attending her family’s many sporting events.

She is survived by her children, Linda O’Dell and her husband, John of La Grange, NC, Richard “Lee” Aughenbaugh and his wife, Jeanne of Macon, Ga., and Curtis A. ”Buster” Aughenbaugh Jr. and his wife, Judy, James S. Aughenbaugh and his wife, Lynn and William B. Aughenbaugh, all of DuBois; two sisters, Ellen Stahlnecker and her husband, George of DuBois and Helen Ruth Himes and her husband, Elton of Reynoldsville; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis “Art” Aughenbaugh Sr.; a sister, Doris Brooks; and two brothers, Ed and William Dungey.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior with Pastor Melinda Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Charles J. “Big Daddy” Ritterson Sr., 66, of New Millport died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at his residence.

Born Dec. 28, 1948 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Frank and Marie (Goodbread) Ritterson.

He had worked for Anthony Lumber as a log truck driver. He was a former member of the Chinklacamoose A.B.A.T.E. Chapter 16.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his grandchildren and the joy they provided him. He raced at Muddy Run Raceway and enjoyed working on cars and his Harley Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Frannie Ritterson, Harry Ritterson, Edward Ritterson, Anna Mae Dietz and Marie Moebius.

On Nov. 11, 1967 in Bucks County, he wed Beverley Ann Biegenwald. She survives in New Millport.

He is survived by three children, Paula Hamm and her husband, Michael of Irvona, Billy Jo Gillingham of Curwensville and Charles J. Ritterson Jr. and his wife, Stacey of New Millport.

He is survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer Hamm and her fiancé, Ben Folmar, Shauna McGary and her husband, Damion, Stephen Zimmerman, Erika Ritterson and Elizabeth Ritterson and a great-grandson, Damion McGary Jr.

He is also survived by five brothers and sisters Madeline Larson, Irene Reck, Margaret Delapenia, Alice Bedner and Edna McLeash.

Funeral services for Mr. Ritterson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with the Rev.  Stephen Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Fruit Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Charlotte M. London, 74, of Rockton died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at Christ the King Manor. Born Dec. 1, 1940 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Earl O. and Effie May (Korb) Smith.

On July 4, 1958, she married Charles “Bud” London.  He survives.

She worked for the JC Penney Company for 21 years.

She was a lifetime member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and playing on her computer.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlene E. Davis and her husband, James of Rockton, Cindy G. Hilliard and her husband, Randy of Alexis, NC and Cheryl L. Walburn and her husband, Thomas of Greencastle; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles and Allen Smith.

There will no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Howe officiating.

Memorials can be placed with the Salem United Methodist Church, 2000 Carson Hill Rd., DuBois, PA 15801.

Infant Anthony J. Boland died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was the son of Michael J. Boland and Tiffaney L. Andrus.

He is survived by half-brothers Johnathon, Robert, Christopher and Austin and his maternal grandfather, Elton Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Irene (Besky) Boland.

Bertha G. Molleca, 96, of North Philipsburg died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at her residence.

Born March 29, 1919 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late George C. and Flora (Walker) Jarrett.

She was a founding and lifetime member of the New Life Center, Philipsburg, and very active within the church.

In her younger years, she assisted with luncheons and communion. Until her recent illness, she placed the hymn numbers and folded the bulletins every week.

She loved reading her Bible and praying for people. She was her family’s biggest prayer warrior.

She retired from the Philipsburg State General Hospital in 1975 after 25 years of service. She first worked in housekeeping on the maternity floor and later in the sewing room.

On Aug. 26, 1939 in Philipsburg, she married Albert William Molleca, who died Sept. 17, 1993.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Singer of North Philipsburg and a son, James A. Molleca and his wife, Doris of Birdsboro.

She is survived by a sister, Ruby Emigh of Hawk Run; her grandchildren, Bradley Singer and his wife, Dawn, James Molleca Jr. and Jean Robbins and her husband, John; and the spouses of her late grandchildren, Ann Myers and Tony Pollisino.

She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley Myers Mekis, Mallary Myers, Tarra Myers Cassick, Trevor Myers, Michael Pollisino, Tyler Singer, Brandon Singer, Jay Molleca III, Nathan Robbins and Leah Robbins; five great-great-grandchildren, Sawyer Mekis, Sadie Mekis, Olivia Pollisino, Michael Pollisino Jr. and Mackenzie Myers; and a former son-in-law, Jerry Singer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Cherie Myers Pollisino and Thomas Myers, three brothers and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the New Life Center, Philipsburg, with the Rev. John T. Dill officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Jessie (Richey) Hoffman, 97, of Burlington, NC, and formerly of Ramey, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Twin Lakes Healthcare, Burlington, NC.

Born May 12, 1918 in Coraopolis, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Pearl (Heidler) Richey.

On March 30, 1940, she married John M. “Pen” Hoffman in Wellsburg, W.Va.

She was a member of the Ramey United Methodist Church, where she was a past president of the United Methodist Women and a Sunday school teacher.

She was a local precinct worker during elections, and she planned and stitched a Bi-Centennial quilt, which was given to the White House in 1976.  She was a member of the Order of Easter Star for more than 50 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Dziadosz of North Carolina and Kathleen Walker of Oregon.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoffman, a daughter, Joyce Hoffman and a sister, Verne Ammon.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. Thursday at the Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation, Ramey.  Private graveside services will follow.

Ian W. Curry, 40, of Curwensville died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. He was born March 16, 1975 in Clearfield, a son of Lex W. Jr. and Linda J. (Campbell) Curry.

He was a 1993 graduate of the Curwensville High School, where he was active with the golf team. He had been employed at Bob’s Army & Navy, Clearfield, and Dunham’s, DuBois.

Mr. Curry was a member of the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, the Curwensville Rescue Hose & Ladder and the Cub Pack 13 and Troop 13 of Curwensville.

He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Nobel Lodge No. 480, where he was serving as junior warden. He was also an Eagle Scout and the youth chairman for Polar Bear 1991. He was a graduate of Hurricane Island Outward Bound. He also attended the National Jamboree in 1989.

He was a vigil honor member of the Order of the Arrow Bucktail Council.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Curry is survived by his sister, Tenley Barrett and her husband, Brian of Grampian; a niece, Lexi; aunts and uncles, Connie and William Wetzel of Curwensville and Suzanne and Charlie Rumfola of Clearfield; a great-aunt, Jane Jacqueline Fowler of Clearfield; and numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 a.m.  – 10 a.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville.

A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m. and a Christian Vigil Service will be said at 7:45 p.m., both Thursday at the funeral home.

Hope Justine (Rebo) Bechtle, 46, of Hillsboro, NH and formerly of Morrisdale and Curwensville, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at her home.

Born March 1, 1969 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of Sandy (Bloom) Rebo and her companion, Doc McDonald of Osceola Mills and the late George J. Rebo Sr. She was married to Richard Bechtle, who survives at home.

Mrs. Bechtle was of the Christian faith.  She worked at Osram Sylvania in Hillsboro, NH. She attended the West Branch High School and received her GED.  She was an avid Steelers fan and loved the outdoors but her greatest passion in life was her family and her two beautiful children.

She will be dearly missed by many.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tony J. Rebo and two uncles, Francis Bloom and David Bloom.

Along with her mother and her companion and her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Sabrina C. Boal of Hillsboro, NH; a step-daughter, Cassidy Bechtle of Hillsboro, NH; a son, Tyler J. Boal of Hillsboro NH; and a step-son, Tyler Bechtle of Hillsboro, NH.

She is also survived by one brother, George J. Rebo Jr. and his wife, Patty of Montgomery; four uncles, James Bloom and his wife, Linda of El Paso, Texas, Johnny Bloom and his wife, Annette of Spring Mills, Rodger Bloom and his wife, Wendy of Morrisdale and Martin Rebo Jr. of Philipsburg; three aunts, Paulette Bloom of Houtzdale, Anna Mae Beveridge of Munson and Nancy Franek and her husband, John of Ginter; and a step-grandfather, David Spicer of Philipsburg.

She will be missed by many.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. W. Dean Krause officiating.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Evelyn L. Lewis, 85, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1929 in Reading, a daughter of the late William H. and Ruth (Boyer) Lengel.

Mrs. Lewis was a Welcome Wagon Hostess for seven years. She was very involved in the community, including serving as president and a member of the Community Concert Association for more than 20 years.

She was involved with the Chaplaincy Program at the Clearfield Hospital for 37 years.  She also served on the advisory council and volunteered with the RSVP, Clearfield.

In addition, she belonged to the Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement, the DuBois/Susquehanna Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, TRIAD, the Clearfield County Crimestoppers and the U.S. Cancellation Club.

She was a member of Church of the Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by her three children, David H. Lewis and his wife, Donna of Aiken, SC, Ruth Schuler of Hamden, Conn., and Gwendolyn Lewis of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Wil and Grace Beauseigneur, Ria Schuler, Logan Harrison Lewis and Jamie Hodson; and two brothers, Henry J. Lengel of Nazareth and Thomas E. Lengel of Bastrop, Texas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Lewis on April 27, 1997 and to whom she was wed March 22, 1952 in Reading.  She was also preceded in death by grandson, Tanner Nolan Lewis and three brothers, William H., II, Roger I., and Basil D. Lengel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Branch President Robert Morrison officiating.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Jeffrey A. Lieber, 41, of San Ramon, Calif., died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015 at his home.

Born Oct. 9, 1974 in Clarion, he was the son of Richard J. Lieber and Janis (Swope) Lieber.  His father survives and lives in DuBois with his wife, Carol.  His mother survives and lives in Akron, Ohio.

He was a 1992 graduate of the DuBois Area High School and a 1997 graduate of Clarion University. He was the store manager of Friedman Appliance in Pleasant Hills, Calif.

He is survived by Kip J. Lieber of Pittsburgh; a step-sister, Suzi Manning and her husband, Matthew of DuBois; and two step-brothers, Donald McCracken and his wife, Carolyn of DuBois and Brent McCracken of Long Beach, Calif.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. Private services will be held from the funeral home.

Kevin Ronald Hoover, 49, of Curwensville died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 22, 1965 in Livingston, NJ, he was the son of Edward and Kathryn (Lininger) Hoover.

He was a 1983 graduate of the West Branch Area School and a 1989 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.

He was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a senior civil service engineer, where he had worked for the last 28 years. He was a member of the Curwensville Moose and Snowshoe Rails to Trails.

In the company of his family and friends, he enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, golfing, attending Pittsburgh Pirates games and NASCAR races.

One of his greatest pleasures was being able to share and attend all of his son’s many activities that included wrestling tournaments, football, baseball and all-star games, band concerts, fishing and four-wheeling.

On Aug. 19, 1996 in Hollidaysburg, he wed the former Lisa Nale, who survives of Curwensville, along with a son, Spencer James Hoover at home.

Also surviving are  his parents, Edward and Kathryn (Lininger) Hoover of Morrisdale; a brother, Gregg Hoover and his wife, Abigail of Pen Argyl; aunts and uncles, Bryon Lininger and his wife, Mary of Stroudsburg; M. Jean Williams and  Mary Homman and her husband, Wilford, both of Morrisdale; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Hoover will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Pastor Stanley Wisor officiating.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Sandra L. Picard, 70, of Frenchville died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.

She was born March 10, 1945 in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Hilary and Stella (Moore) Picard.

She graduated from the Western PA School for the Deaf in 1965 and was employed at Pennshire Clothing Factory.  She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville.

She is survived by a sister, Patricia Barger and her husband, Harold of Frenchville; a brother, William Picard and his wife, Darlene of Morrisdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Hilary, Francis and Robert Picard and two sisters, Marjorie Mayhue and Alice Benton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Frenchville, with Father Philip Billotte as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Frenchville.

Deloris J. Hoover, 83, of Curwensville died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 at the UPMC Altoona.

She was born Oct. 11, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clinton and Ann Spencer.

Mrs. Hoover retired from Kent’s Sportswear after 35 years of employment and had previously worked at McGregor’s Sportswear.

Mrs. Hoover loved to tend to her flowers and paint various pictures and decorative pieces. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Hughy A. Hoover, to whom she was wed Sept. 22, 1952. She is survived by two children, Chuck Hoover and his wife, Sue of Clearfield and Valerie Ireland and her husband, Mike Sr. of Curwensville.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kristy Strishock and her husband, Mark, Cory Hoover and his wife, Megan, Angela Ireland and Michael Ireland Jr. and his wife, Joy; eight great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jakob, Jasa, Jackson, Grace, Jaelynn, David and Alessia; and three brothers, Max Spencer, Melvin Spencer and his wife, Norma and Denny Spencer and his wife, Doris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Clark, Midge Mahlon and Cleda Peters and three brothers, the Rev. Clinton Spencer Jr., Hobert Spencer and Donald Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Scott Schultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Clyde R. “Pete” Peters, 84, of Curwensville, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born April 18, 1931 in Pike Township, Clearfield County, he was the son of Howard and Blanche (Norris) Deter.

He had been employed by Mid-State Amusements for 20 years.  He then, along with his wife, Marie, owned and operated Pete and Marie’s Pondorosa Bar and Restaurant for 30 years.

After his retirement, he enjoyed working at Hidden Star Farms. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of the Korean War. He was affiliated with the Curwensville Presbyterian Church.

He was a life member of the Curwensville L.O.O.M. Family Center No. 268, the Curwensville Rescue Hose & Ladder Co. and the Clearfield Eagles Aerie No. 812.

He also was a member of the Curwensville American Legion Post No. 505, the Curwensville VFW post No. 842 and the Clearfield B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 540.  He also participated in the Curwensville Pool League.

On Jan. 13, 1952 in Clearfield, he wed the former Marie E. Smith, who survives along with three children,  Atlee Peters and his wife Amy, of Olanta, Dana Clark of Pittsburgh and Damon Peters and his wife, Anne of Richfield, Minn.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heather Ward, Brad Peters, Adam Peters and Kyle Clark, three step-grandchildren, Niki Obenour, Joseph Clark and Cory Clark, 14 great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Marven Smith and his wife, Diana of Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-grandson, Jason Clark, an infant sister and a brother-in-law, Jerry L. Smith.

Funeral services for “Pete” Peters will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville with Mr. Gary Jewart and the Rev. Charles Taber Jr. co-officiating.  Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Harley Jane Rowles, 18, of Grampian died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born June 4, 1997 in DuBois, she was the daughter of Harry C. Jr. and Barbara J. (Mahlon) Rowles.

She was a student at the Soaring Heights Autism Academy in DuBois. She participated in Special Olympics both for the Clearfield County Chapter and the DuBois-Jefferson Chapter.

She also was a member of the Clearfield Stars Special Needs Cheerleading Squad. She was a junior member of the Grampian American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are her parents of Grampian; her maternal grandmother, E. Jane Mahlon of Grampian; her paternal grandparents, Harry C. Rowles Sr. and his wife, Linda of Carnwath and Denise M. Bloom of Curwensville; a brother, David Rowles of State College; and her great-grandfather, Boyd E. Coudriet of Florida as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John T. Mahlon, and her paternal grandfather, James E. Bloom.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Todd T. Hogue officiating.  Burial will be in the Greenville Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Grampian.

Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Grampian American Legion Auxiliary will conduct memorial services at 6 p.m. Monday.

Gloria Matthews, 81, of DuBois died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born July 25, 1934 in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late Russell A. and Milda E. (Walker) Schrecengost.

On Jan. 13, 1955, she married Fred Matthews.  He survives.

She was a homemaker. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan.

She enjoyed her yearly family vacation to Myrtle Beach and going on cruises with her family.  Most of all, she enjoyed following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many sports events and activities.

She is survived by three children, Russell “Lamar” Matthews and his wife, Karen of Stump Creek; Rodney Matthews and his wife, Cathy of Reynoldsville; and Pamela Walker and her husband, Scott of DuBois.

She is survived by three brothers, Russell “Bud” Schrecengost of Streetsboro, Ohio, Clayton Schrecengost of Kittanning and William Schrecengost of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Heather Pasternak, Rusty Matthews, Devon and Daron Walker, Nichelle Matthews, Melinda Manning and Briana Pold; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Holli Matthews.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park.

In honor of her granddaughter, Holli, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to any cancer fund and or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Irene R. (Buckeye) Coyle, 98, a resident of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, and formerly of Osceola Mills, and Brooklyn, NY, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at the center.

She was born Aug. 23, 1917 in Osceola Mills, the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Annie (Solensky) Buckeye. She was the last survivor of 12 children.  She married John T. Coyle Sr., Feb. 15, 1947 in New York, NY.

She moved from Brooklyn, NY to Meadville in 2000. While living in Brooklyn, she worked for Abraham & Strauss Department Store for 28 years before retiring.  While in Meadville she was under the care of her brother, Robert Buckeye, with whom she was very close to.

A devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Agatha Catholic Church, Meadville.  She was a loving and kind person to all of her family and friends and will be missed greatly.  She was taken care of with exceptional and loving care while a resident of Crawford County Care Center.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Cecelia Buckeye and many nieces and nephews who were very close to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Coyle Sr., who died April 29, 1995, and by a son, John T. Coyle Jr.

She was also preceded in death by eight sisters, Margaret Buckeye, Dorothy Erdosy, Mary Weidman, Agnes Buckeye, Anna Buckeye, Helen Moore, Rita Furia and Barbara Shimmel and by three brothers, Joseph Buckeye Jr., Edward Buckeye and Robert Buckeye.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Osceola Mills.

Private family viewing and visitation will be at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Osceola Mills.

Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 408 Stone St., Osceola Mills, PA 16830.

Glenn F. Stone, 72, of State College died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 at his residence.  He was born Feb. 9, 1943 in Clearfield County, a son of Edith (Butler) Stone of Curwensville and the late George Stone.

He was a 1961 graduate of the Clearfield High School. While in high school, he played football and wrestled, advancing to the state level competition.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served with the U.S. Army from 1964-68. During that time, he was awarded the Parachutist Badge, two combat Infantry Badges, the Air Medal and two Bronze Stars.

During his years of employment, he owned and operated Stone’s Exxon in Center City, sold automobiles and mobile homes and drove truck.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. His biggest love was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jacqulyn L. (Baumgardner) Stone, to whom he was wed Oct. 28, 1967 in Clearfield.

He is survived by four children, Vance Stone and his wife, Kellie of Annapolis, Md., and their children, Drew and Nick; Angela Icaza and her husband, Andy of Falls Church, Va., and their daughter, Gianna; Jon Stone and his wife, Michele of Valley Forge and their children, Kate and Jack; and Kim Sponsler and her husband, Aric of State College and their children, Devan, Jonathan and Avery.

He is also survived by a brother, Dennis Stone and his wife, Linda of Lanse; a sister, Barbara Bauer and her husband, Jerry of Minnesota; a brother, Jesse Stone of Illinois; and a sister, Fran McDaniels and her husband, Charles of Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan Stone.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Kenneth J. Leonard officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts Honor Guard.

Friends will be received from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield.
