Sally A. Britton, 72, of Osceola Mills died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born Nov. 12, 1942 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Jane (Jones) Shimmel. She married Ronald L. Britton on Feb. 25, 1961 in Gearhartville, RD Philipsburg; he survives at home.
Mrs. Britton was a member of the Corner Stone Community Fellowship Church in Wallaceton. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Louise Shimmel and Madeline Shimmel; three brothers, Donald, Marvin and Ralph Shimmel; and three brothers-in-law, Ken Fetzer, Leroy Greslick and Randall Britton.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Britton is survived by three daughters, Robin Lego and her husband, Andrew of Osceola Mills, Amy Perks and her husband, Charles of Sharon and Jodi Britton of Osceola Mills.
She is survived by four sisters, Irene Greslick and Mary Fetzer, both of Philipsburg, Pat Houben and her husband, William of Clarion and Janie Rothrock and her husband, George of Wallaceton and a brother, Robert Shimmel and his wife Jackye of Houtzdale.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Heather Lego and her companion, Ron Hensal, Mark Lego and his wife, McKenzie, Makenzie Britton, Riley Hassinger, Jaxon Bell, Logan Perks and Lucas Perks; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Shimmel and Cindy Britton.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Matthew J. Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
