James A. “Bonz” Reitz, 62, of Philipsburg died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at his residence.
Born Aug. 27, 1952 in DuBois, he was the son of the late Richard Shaffer and Jeanette Reitz. He is survived by his significant other of many years, Nicole J. Swarm; she survives at home.
Mr. Reitz was Protestant by faith. He was a U.S. Air force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the American Legion, John Ashley Dennis Post No. 437 and a social member of the AMVETS, Post No. 159, both in Philipsburg.
He had formerly been employed by Shain Industries in Philipsburg. He was a 1970 graduate of the DuBois High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was the last of his generation.
He is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Reitz and Ms. Swarm’s son Ethan Swarm of Philipsburg, whom he helped raise.
At the request of Mr. Reitz, there will not be any public visitation or funeral.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.
